Tips and Tricks for a Better Guild Wars 2 Experience

Howdy everyone! In this post, I'm going to give you some tips and tricks for a better Guild War 2 experience. It's aimed for newbies who might have been overwhelmed by how this game throws everything at you without having an in-depth tutorial.

  • Inventory Management

Managing your inventory efficiently is one of the most important skills you need to learn in this game, as you will salvage hundreds, if not thousands of items a day. Badly managed inventory will give headaches and wastes tons of your time. Here are a few tips to avoid being frustrated by the inventory system in Guild Wars 2 :
  1. Achievement items can be safely sold or thrown away once acquired.
  2. You can press the Gear icon at the top right corner of your inventory and use it to immediately deposit all materials to your bank. You can also use it to automatically sort your inventory.
  3. Salvage everything you don't need. Salvaging is a very important part in Guild Wars 2, and you probably will need to salvage every a few hours. To do it easily, you can right-click on your favourite salvaging kit and choose one of the Salvage All options.
  4. Sell your green and rare sigils and runes. Instead of trying in vain to destroy your useless sigils and runes, it's better to visit a vendor real quick and sell all of them along with all the junk items you acquire in one fell swoop.

  • Use Looking for Group (LFG) tool

The LFG tool is quite often overlooked by newbies, which is a grave mistake. Familiarity and constant usage of this tool is very important. For example, when you, say, want to join a meta event in Auric Basin, instead of teleporting you way there and hoping for others to show up, you can try finding a "Taxi" squad and join them. To do so, you need to be in the same map as your chosen squad, right-click on one of your squadmates, and choose Join In .... .Unless the map you're joining is full, you will be immediately teleported to their map, while still retaining your location in your original map.
  • Gather everything!
Gather every single harvesting node you can see, other than those using sickles and gold/silver ores. Those are worth a lot and might be your primary source of income in the lower levels. Remember, the nodes spawn in the exact same location everyday and they aren't account bound, so you can exhaust an area of all its nodes and then swoop in with a different character and do the same.
  • Combat and Build
Although in open world PvE no one will care about what build you use, if you want to do fractals or other high-level group contents you will need at least a build you can enjoy but still effective. You can look around if qtfy.eu/builds for any build that you fancy. You don't need to follow the build to the T, though, and should make some modifications here and there if you can't play effectively using one of the builds.

And that's a wrap! Thanks for reading, and I hope you some sweet, sweet loots!

Beginner's Guide - How to do Auric Basin Meta Event Properly

This guide is intended for use by newbies trying to do one of the finest Meta events in Guild Wars 2 - - and coincidentally also the best gold-making event with the least effort - - Auric Basin Meta event. I will lay out a few basic rules : All the octovines have to be killed  within 2 minutes of each other When one of the octovines is killed, all the others have to be killed within 2 minutes or the octovines will regenerate about a half of their health. It's not a big deal if it happens once, but if it happens twice there's a big chance your map isn't coordinated enough.   Breachers > Frogs > Octo. This is the law of Auric Basin you will hear every time you do the Meta event. In short, you have to, in order, kill the breachers(wurm-like mordrem who will summon even more mordrems), frogs(elite mordrem flopper - - they are annoying because they can kill large groups of people when burning octo), and octo(burning phase, you burn only when breachers an...

Gold Farming Tricks for New Guild Wars 2 Players

In this post, I'm going to present to you a few tips on how to acquire gold the easy way. This guide is directed towards newer players who's in need of gold but don't have the time nor the skills to earn a decent amount of it. So, tips like TP Flipping won't be covered as it requires a great deal of gold to start from. You should have a max level character along with the first expansion (Heart of Thorns). Daily Now that doing at least 3 dailies a day nets you a good 2 gold, it's a good thing to always do your daily whenever you can. Not only will you earn an easy 60 gold / month, it's fast to do (less than 30 minutes) and if you want it faster, you can do PvP which will guarantee that you finish 2/3rd of your dailies as long as you're not completely horrible in fighting. Then you can just do Vista Viewer daily to finish. Daily Fractals Doing daily fractals may seem like it takes a long time, but it's really not. You c...

Why I Love Guild Wars 2

This is going to be a bit of a rant, but I wanted to share the reason why I love Guild Wars 2 compared to thousands of different MMOs, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. I'm going to describe several reasons why : The unique, amazing painting-like graphic   When your usual MMORPGs have either anime, realistic-looking, or cartoonish art styles, Guild Wars 2 slams the table with a very unique paint-like style. It actually immerses you more than the usual, realistic-looking art style. Actually, I think Guild Wars 2's art style trumps most other MMORPGs with their boring, copy-paste style. Very rewarding exploration Exploration in Guild Wars isn't just unlocking certain parts of the map hidden by the fog. It actually feels like an adventure, something I haven't experienced in any MMORPG since Ultima Online. A hidden cave -- a hidden underwater cave, even -- is always tempting you to come explore inside. And once you do, and after probably extermin...
