Tangled Depths Meta Event - An Explanation

Howdy, everyone!

This post is to bring you guys, especially the newbies, up-to-date on what should be done on Tangled Depths Meta Event. Basically, the event will have you kill Chak Gerenths (huge Legendary Chak) that will spawn for each lane : Scar, Rata, Nuhoch, and Ogre (Shrek) Lane.

All lanes will have what's called as Chak Rush, which is when tons of chaks rush to the cannon at the end of a lane, completely ignoring any players in their way. When the cannon's destroyed, it's an automatic fail for the whole event, not just that specific lane.

  • Scar Lane
The simplest lane, your job in this lane is to protect the 4 Charrs humping the Mega-Thumper which will draw the Gerenth out. To do this, you just need to kill every single chak you see. Simple, you see. You can even use whatever skills you want, even those with heavy CCs.
  • Rata Lane
The second easiest lane after Scar Lane, this lane will have you chucking balls of ley-line energy. Once the event starts, ley-line collectors will spawn at the exact same location everytime, and it's your job to pick one up and start chucking those into the blue circle with the huge golem in it. It's kinda easy because once the golem is powered up to 5 stacks of energy, people should be able to DPS it to 50% real quick.
  • Ogre Lane
Affectionately called Shrek Lane, this lane has tons of chak eggs, all of which you need to destroy so you can draw the Gerenth out (to protect their young, I presume). It sounds like genocide, but you're doing it against a colony of blood-thirsty, murderous insects so...
Eggs spawn in pre-determined locations everytime after a few seconds, so be sure to equip lots of AoE skills and burst them down quick!
  • Nuhoch Lane
The lane that causes the most fail in Tangled Depths Meta Event, this lane forces you to stomp on mushroom nodules which, when released, will spawn tons of mushroom creatures that deal tons of damage and can even knock you off the platform, killing you instantly. Scales badly, so the more people you have here, the more nodules they will need to stomp. Bring tons of stability and heal skills, because you will definitely be knocked down at least one time.

Remember, in this event, fail on any lane will cause failure immediately. So, make sure you draw out the Gerenth appropriately, kill all the chak threatening the cannon, and read what your commander say so you can react accordingly! This event happens on every odd hours at the 30 minutes mark (5.30, 7.30, and so on). You can check here for the exact time. On the other hand, if you would like to get the mastery points in this map, you can visit Dulfy's site here for very in-depth explanations, complete with videos.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy the Tangled Depths Meta Event, everyone!

Beginner's Guide - How to do Auric Basin Meta Event Properly

This guide is intended for use by newbies trying to do one of the finest Meta events in Guild Wars 2 - - and coincidentally also the best gold-making event with the least effort - - Auric Basin Meta event. I will lay out a few basic rules : All the octovines have to be killed  within 2 minutes of each other When one of the octovines is killed, all the others have to be killed within 2 minutes or the octovines will regenerate about a half of their health. It's not a big deal if it happens once, but if it happens twice there's a big chance your map isn't coordinated enough.   Breachers > Frogs > Octo. This is the law of Auric Basin you will hear every time you do the Meta event. In short, you have to, in order, kill the breachers(wurm-like mordrem who will summon even more mordrems), frogs(elite mordrem flopper - - they are annoying because they can kill large groups of people when burning octo), and octo(burning phase, you burn only when breachers an...

Why I Love Guild Wars 2

This is going to be a bit of a rant, but I wanted to share the reason why I love Guild Wars 2 compared to thousands of different MMOs, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. I'm going to describe several reasons why : The unique, amazing painting-like graphic   When your usual MMORPGs have either anime, realistic-looking, or cartoonish art styles, Guild Wars 2 slams the table with a very unique paint-like style. It actually immerses you more than the usual, realistic-looking art style. Actually, I think Guild Wars 2's art style trumps most other MMORPGs with their boring, copy-paste style. Very rewarding exploration Exploration in Guild Wars isn't just unlocking certain parts of the map hidden by the fog. It actually feels like an adventure, something I haven't experienced in any MMORPG since Ultima Online. A hidden cave -- a hidden underwater cave, even -- is always tempting you to come explore inside. And once you do, and after probably extermin...
